Quick Answer: How to use JPG to WebP

The JPG to WebP converter on Tools Lab PRO is a free online, in-browser tool with an optional <= 50KB output mode enabled by default. Convert single JPG images or bulk batches into private WebP files, then download one file or a ZIP.

  1. 1Upload one JPG or bulk JPG files using drag & drop or the Browse button.
  2. 2Keep the <=50KB target on, or turn it off for regular high-quality WebP output.
  3. 3Click Convert all to run every conversion in your browser.
  4. 4Download individual WebP files or download the full batch as a ZIP.

Defaults are tuned for small WebP output; turn off the 50KB target when you prefer higher quality over file size.

Bulk Image Conversion (Batch Mode)

Convert dozens of JPG files to WebP in a single pass without leaving your browser.

  • Drag & drop multiple JPG files
  • Process all files in your browser
  • Download all as ZIP or download individually
  • Progress per file (queued → processing → done)
  • Output as WebP (.webp)
  • Deterministic naming: photo.jpg → photo.webp, duplicates become photo_1.webp

Target size: <= 50KB

The 50KB mode is enforced per file. When it is enabled, the converter starts with high-quality WebP output, checks the actual blob size, then re-encodes with lower quality using adaptive search until the file is <= 50KB or the quality floor is reached.

If a very detailed image cannot reach 50KB with acceptable quality, that row shows an error instead of pretending the limit was met. Size-targeting may take longer for large or complex photos.

Frequently asked questions

Does bulk JPG to WebP conversion work?⌄

Yes. You can select or drop multiple JPG files at once. The tool keeps the list order, shows each file as queued, processing, done, or error, and lets you download files individually or as one ZIP.

Is the JPG to WebP converter free?⌄

Yes. This JPG to WebP converter is free online, with no signup, no watermark, and no hidden paywall.

Are my files safe and private?⌄

Yes. Conversion runs in-browser, so your JPG images stay on your device and are not uploaded to a server.

Is <=50KB guaranteed?⌄

When Target size: <=50KB is enabled, the tool tries to fit each WebP file under 50KB by adjusting WebP quality. If a complex or very large image cannot reach 50KB above the quality floor, that file is marked with an error so the page does not claim a false result.

What input and output formats are supported?⌄

Input is JPG/JPEG up to about 50MB per file. Output is WebP with a .webp file extension.

Can I download all converted images together?⌄

Yes. After one or more files convert successfully, use Download all (.zip) to save the batch in one archive.

Does it work on mobile?⌄

Yes. The converter works in modern mobile and desktop browsers. Large batches or size-targeting may take longer on low-memory devices.

Does JPG to WebP add watermarks?⌄

No. Output WebP files are clean, without added watermarks or branding.
